Grown in the unique climate of Alaska, our Sarah Bernhardt peonies bloom in July and August, making them ideal for summer weddings. Sarah Bernhardt peonies are the most famous of all peonies. Ranging from blush-white to bright pink, these oversized flowers will hold for up to two weeks in water.

Choose from 1, 2, or 3-year-old roots, available for pre-order year-round. Pre-orders received before September 1st each year will always be given priority over orders received on/after that date.

• 1-year-old: These will have between 3-5 flowers the year after they are planted. Perfect for new gardeners looking to start.

• 2-years-old: These will have between 5-8 flowers the year after they are planted. Established roots for vibrant summer blooms.

• 3-years-old: These will have between 8-12 flowers the year after they are planted. Mature roots for the most impressive flowers.

In your garden, peonies are very hardy and require very little attention - they will just grow and bloom. Each plant reaches full maturity after they are 5-6 years old with 25-40 flowers and will last from 20-30 years.

All peonies come in "root balls", meaning after you prepare a whole (roughly 8" deep and 10" wide), you can simply place the root ball in the hole, fill any open space with the soil you dug out, and you are done!

Pickup options in Soldotna (late September) and Anchorage (late September or early October) ensure you receive your roots fresh and ready to plant.
